A meal supplement may contain certain blends of fiber, fats, carbohydrates, proteins, or macro-nutrients. It may also consist of low fat composition, high protein, vegan or vegetarian options, unprocessed foods, or raw foods. Also, it is made available to support specific popular diet programs. Generally, this type of supplement is fortified with nutrient-dense foods, herbs, minerals, and vitamins.

Body Building Supplements

These types of dietary supplements are designed to provide specific support for athletes and body builders. Generally, body building supplements contain high protein, amino acids, and nutrients that enhance athletic and body building performance and recovery, energy, and metabolism.

Another type of a dietary supplement includes nutrient-dense food items.
