It may also consist of low fat composition, high protein, vegan or vegetarian options, unprocessed foods, or raw foods. Also, it is made available to support specific popular diet programs. Generally, this type of supplement is fortified with nutrient-dense foods, herbs, minerals, and vitamins.

These types of dietary supplements are designed to provide specific support for athletes and body builders. Generally, body building supplements contain high protein, amino acids, and nutrients that enhance athletic and body building performance and recovery, energy, and metabolism.

These types of food products include medicinal mushrooms like reishi or shiitake varieties, wheat-grass, wheat germ, psyllium seed husks, colostrum, essential fatty acid supplement, royal jelly and bee pollen, spirulina, and brewer’s yeast. There are some specialty food products that offer specific health benefits for certain conditions. These food items may include isolated compounds from synthetic or natural sources and whole foods.
