End of June Smoothie Bar Almost Completed

I worked all Memorial Weekend on the Smoothie Bar we are installing as we are getting back in the Smoothie business. It will be called Joe's Smoothies and Jan is excited to start making them.

I will post pictures soon on the completed bar and how Jan decorates the place as I am sure she has big plans.

Just a quick note to let all my friends know we are getting close to launching the new addition to our growing business. Praise the Lord.

Finished Roof Tough

Well it took me 7 1/2 days to complete the reroofing job here is the breakdown.
I took off 1/2 the roof the front section as I began there and after a couple days of 12 - 14 hours a day on the roof I looked at the size of it and thought this here thing is gonna kill me so I just took off the front side. If I had removed the back as well would have taken another 5-7 days.

Laying the shingles isn't all that bad it is running out and having to go down to get more as a bundle weight is about 80-100 pounds for the ones I was using Archertect Shingles.

The roof took 48 squares of Archertect Shingles and 5 squares of starter and cap shingles.
The total weight is around 8 tons in shingles I had to carry up the ladder 11 steps jeeze it was tough. I got a back leg arm sholder hip joint you name it workout.

I would carry up 2-3 squares of shingle till I ran out and then do it again the problem was the secound trip carring the shingles would be the do me in and it was tough getting it going again.

One day it rained about 3 pm so I had 16 or so squares left to get on the roof and I decided to do that and shingle the next day. I carried up the 16 squares or 2.4 tons in 3 hours or just about a ton an hour.

The next day I was hurting my right knee was killing me so I took couple bc powders and got it on. Sure was nice not having to go down for more shingles and it went much faster. I did have to buy 5 more squares to finish up but that is that.

This weekend I added gutters to the front painted the front porch and trim around the front windows to match from adding the new window for the bathroom remodel.

I am done it has been a year since I started with replumbing the sewer lines, to the bathroom, to laying hardwood floors, building fireplace hearth, to putting on a new roof, and o yea staining the house.

I need some time now to work on our Wholesale Supplements Site add some new lines and products.

My plans are to chill till after labor day and then get back to the gym for some fun.

All in all the work was tough but the end product is really nice. I figured I saved 25 k maybe more on me doing it and taking the year to do it. If you are thinking of taking on a home remodel job take your time don't rush and it will last for many years to come study up search for help, and be prepared to get dirty.

D-Day Tomorrow Begin Roofing Home

Well tomorrow is the day I will begin to tear off and roof our home. I was goning to begin Tuesday but God sent us rain and I have held off till we get some days that look clear.

I practiced on a small well pump building we have and glad I did learned some things I needed to know and didn't so now I feel confident but apprehensive as well.

This is a big job as I have to remove the old roof before I can add the new roof. Estimated the job at 43 squares a square is 3 bundles of shingles so I have 129 of them to haul up a ladder and they weigh 100 lbs each. 10 Rools of roofing felt and 30 bundles of starter shingles. I guess I will consider this a workout leg day, back day, arm day all in one. Estimated time of the job is 5 days so I will post updates as I proceed, if I have the strength to type at the end of a day...

Anyone is welcome to let me know some things I need to know otherwise I guess I will learn as I go as this is my first time to put shingles down.

God's Strength will carry me
