Litttle Update on the Home Challange

On or about August 1st our air conditioner blew up and it was 105 here in Texas. We had a big window unit in the game room (were I have set up do my workouts) and thanks be to God it worked. Last time I checked it didn't work about a year ago. Anyway Jan and I have been in the game room now for 3 weeks sleeping on a couch but hey at least we were cool so I am not complaining.

I bought a 5 ton to replace the old one and a 2 ton to go in the game room as the house was just to big for 5 ton unit. For the last 3 weeks been trying to find someone to put the units in but since I bought the units online and they can't make the bucks off the sale I haven't been able to find an air man to take the job.

Ok I began the process of installing them myself tore out the old 5 ton unit out of the closet it was in. Lets just say that was a tough job and leave it at that. Tore out all the old copper as well. Not sure if you have priced copper lately but air conditioner copper is running close to $10.00 a foot. Our old unit was at the end of the house and would need at least 50 ft of copper to replace so I moved the units to the back patio and cut the distance to 25ft of copper. I then needed to move the 220 to the new location install a breaker box. That done I moved to the new install 2 ton unit.

I needed 2 220 power sources as this is a heat pump as well so I redid all the breakers in my panel as it was full to make room for the 2 220 power I needed to add. Then I ran one 220 to the new location for the outside unit and one 220 to the space in the attic the new unit was going be placed as well as installed breaker boxes at both locations. I as well ran new lights in the attic to see by as trying to work with a flashlight in your mouth isn't fun. That done I installed the platform the new unit was going sit on as well as the drain pan for the new unit and ran a 1/2 inch ppc pipe to the new install for the drain line on the air conditioner.

That done I got Matt to help me install the new 5 ton in the closet. Let me just say this it was not fun trying to get that in this small space. Finally had to take the complete door frame down to get it in. We got it in.

I called the man I bought the house from 20 years ago and asked him if he knew someone I could call as Don knows everybody. He gave me Roy Mattsey name and I called him he said he would finish the install.

Today we completed the install on both units and it feels good.

So the above tells ya why I haven't started my home challenge and will be at least a month off as most likely next week I will be taking off to reroof the house and that my folks is a workout in itself. I just put on a new roof in May but we had a huge hail storm and insurance totaled it so here we go again.

I will after this is completed get the home challenge going but as you can see I'm not sitting around doing nothing.

Ok got the home gym all set up

Finally have the home challenge set up in the game room but it can be set up anywhere a door is located, a gym set, or a nice strong branch from a yard tree. I played with it just a few minutes and already know this is going be a challenge in itself. By adjusting the angle of your body you can add weight or reduce the weight. This is the beauty of the setup and why I am using it for my home challenge.

I want to be able to show anyone anywhere they can set up a gym in their home anytime and be able to stay fit and strong. I will be using it as my cardio so those that are in very cold areas or like me very hot areas of the country can do it from the comfort and safety of their home.

Taking the next two weeks getting use to working out again and familiar with the new way I will be working out.

Now folks I am 54 and my days of looking like Rambo are over but I do feel this setup will add serious mass to your body but more important it will build up the small muscles that hold the body together be a really good cardio system to keep the heart healthy, and aid in the reduction of unwanted bodyfat.

This setup will be all I use the entire time and will be taking bodyfat readings, weight, pictures, and measurements to show my progress or lack of progress. I am not going to be in any contest so this will be a challenge that anyone can do and stick to.

I am calling it a home challenge because it is a challenge to find something cheap, isn't bulky and in the way, and works. I feel this fits the bill and once I get started I will tell all what the device is called.

Next post I will try to get some pictures up and measurements posted.

As Arnold said I'm back

I am very sorry it has been over a month since I posted so I owe ya an update. My last post was about my hand well went to the doctor and she said it was gout. I told her I didn't think and that I must have torn something, but she was pretty sure and that was that, what a waste of my time and 80 bucks.

I am finally getting better and now there is a big knot there so it looks like I tore a tendon or broke a bone and it has healed leaving the knot. Still some swelling around the injury and every now and then something hangs up and hurts like crazy till I can move my fingers around and get whatever is stuck unstuck.

Figured the only fix now was surgery and not going do that so I am living with it.

Folks I have the home gym thing all worked out and am really excited to get this home challenge started. Not going tell ya just yet what I got but it is something women and men can do from home and get one good workout. I just got it and haven't had time to set it up but will do this weekend. I will say this it can be used from anywhere a motel room, camping you name it you can take it along and get a really good workout.

I am very excited as I was really struggling with trying to find something for all sexes and ages. A doctor came into Joe Smoothe and I mentioned my problem to him and he turned me onto the it. I thought oh great another one of those things but after I got off and had time to look at it I was really impressed and bought one and will be using it to do my home challenge.

I will be posting a bunch of pictures, stats, exercises I am doing, and meals to give a detailed example of my home challenge.

I am excited to get this going and will be as soon as I get acquainted with the equipment.

More latter,
